Yeah, the 80's sucked. So did the 60's, so did the 90's, so does the now. Also, there were a few good aspects.

People who think everything was better 'back then' are clearly picking and choosing what to remember, whether consciously or not. Do people actually think they have memories of the past when Everything was great? Was no one at That time was looking back fondly to their own childhood, or maybe forward to the future in any respect?

Yeah, I used VHS and remember enjoying it, even loving it. Because, A) it was what was available and 2) because when I look back I don't focus on shitty things! I don't reminisce about the times I was standing there trying to rewind or fast forward to a specific time on a 6 hour tape with the speed unclear and not-quick, or the times the VCR ate the tape, or when I got the AM/PM wrong on the program and it didn't record my show, or when I was actively recording off TV trying to edit out the commercials and not always doing a bang up job of it.

Maybe....maybe I just hate people. "Kids today will know..." Yeah, you'll fucking never know, either! You don't know what its like to grow up now, twenty years prior to your birth, or 5 years after, or any other period of time! Just because you're more familiar with certain eras or past technology doesn't make it better.

Yeah..I think I just hate people....
