Adapted into an animated television special by Theodor Seuss Geisel, from a book penned by Thoedor Seuss Gesiel.
And, it's fucking Perfect. Boris Karloff narrates, and voices the green grump, and if you are able to separate this character from that voice, I feel bad for you.
With hundreds of millions of dollars, good actors, great directors, Real talent through and through, they still are not able to make this into a two hour theatrical feature that Feels like Suess.
Because, it fucking shouldn't BE one.
Not without Geisel's guidance.
Though not "bad" film technically, both the Jim Carrey and the Eggs Benedict Cumberlands one barely come close to capturing the essence of the book and the 1966 animated special.
In some ways....some of what's in those films are purely insulting, when compared to the sincere and genuine tone, and message, of Suess' work.
Gesiel was a rarity. An artist, a thinker.
Someone who found the perfect medium for what he has to say, for his self-expression to the world.
And, these films are weakening people's memory of that. These films, especially the Grinch films, and that fucked Lorax film, are actually the Antithesis what those books were fuckin' about!
*breathes*
It's..something I have to live with....
But, these specials still exist, those books still exist.

Don't forget the True spirit of Dr Seuss, and don't forget to teach your children about that spirit.
